Is a do it yourself divorce (also called pro se) right for you? It depends on your situation. If you are your spouse agree on all of the terms of divorce, then you can do it yourself. Some couples should always get an attorney for represenation however. If a couples can not agree on things such as even getting a divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, division of property, etc. or simply can not discuss matters in a civil manner, then a good lawyer is crucial.
Basically, pro se divorces are meant for simple divorces while attorneys are needed for any divorce which is not simple.
